The Hybrids are Coming
The Hybrids Are Coming
For the first time in the USA, the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid makes its run from the 2025 Chicago Auto Show to Centennial Subaru in Las Vegas. This best-selling compact SUV, known for its rugged off-road capability, comfortable interior, and advanced safety tech, now benefits from a powertrain that flows with more juice, gains better mileage and is kinder to the environment.
Moving Ahead
Working seamlessly with the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission, the 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine, which puts out 162 horsepower and 154 lb.-ft. of torque, pairs with an electric motor that delivers 118 horsepower and 199 lb.-ft. of torque, to boost the 180 horsepower from a standard Forester to a total 194 horsepower. Fuel economy achieves an EPA-estimated 25 MPG in the city, 24 MPG on the highway, and 25 MPG combined, a healthy increase over the 26 MPG city, 33 MPG highway, and 29 MPG combined in the standard. Depending on all sources of power gets you up to 581 miles of range on a single tank.
Choosing a Trim
The Premium Hybrid leads the four trims with a panoramic power moonroof that welcomes the sky and the SUBARU STARLINK® 11.6-inch Multimedia Navigation system that integrates your compatible smartphone through wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Fold down the rear seatback and 106.6 cu. ft. of passenger space becomes 69.1 cu. ft. of cargo room.
The Sport Hybrid excites your nature adventures with X-MODE® for boosting traction by adjusting the all-wheel drive system, engine, and transmission to maximize traction on low-grip surfaces like steep slopes, snow, and mud. Hill Descent Control takes care of your throttle and speed when you go down inclines so that you can focus on steering. StarTex® upholstery is durable and easy to clean.
The Limited Hybrid increases customization with a driver’s seat that adjusts in 10 ways and a front passenger seat that customizes in 8 ways. Your lane changes become more convenient when Blind-Spot Detection tells you who’s in your blind zone while Rear Cross-Traffic Alert protects your backing out of a parking spot by signaling when a vehicle crosses your reverse path.
The Touring Hybrid at the top of the list ups the luxury by covering the seats in leather, adding Ultrasuede® inserts, and building heat into the front and rear seats. If the DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System detects that you’re falling asleep or becoming inattentive, it encourages you to pay attention. To ease maneuvering in tight trails or crowded parking lots, the 360-degree Surround View Monitor reveals virtual top-down views of what’s around you.
