Centennial Subaru in Las Vegas is the newest and one of the largest Subaru dealerships in the United States. It is a $40 million three-story 131,879 square-foot facility covering about five and a half acres. It may seem like a large investment to host one of the smaller Japanese automotive brands. Still, Ascent Automotive Group sees plenty of good reasons to put its faith in Subaru.

Unique Engineering

Subaru has long gone its own way in the automotive industry, offering consumers a true alternative in their transportation decisions. As a prime example, while nearly every automaker equips their cars with an inline or V-shape configured engine because they are easily packaged, Subaru prefers the low center of gravity and low vibration characteristics of the “Boxer” or “flat” horizontally opposed engine and thus applies it to every vehicle they make.

An even more noticeable distinction is that, with one exception, all Subaru models come  standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical All Wheel Drive system. Subaru finds having traction supplied by every tire on the ground makes the car safer in all instances. In addition, AWD adds to the vehicle’s versatility, allowing it to traverse non-paved and slick surfaces that would challenge front-wheel or rear-drive models. Subaru believes this enhances the experience of any motorist, so they simply engineer all-wheel drive into every crossover, wagon, and sedan they make.

The notable exception is the BRZ light sports car. The BRZ is designed to deliver the rear-wheel drive handling dynamics enthusiasts expect, and purists demand from a sports car, and for which they give the BRZ high praise.

Awards and Accolades in Abundance

Subaru engineering excels in other ways as well. Subaru has earned more Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards than any other brand since 2013. Intellichoice rates Subaru as having the lowest ownership cost of any popular automotive brand in the US. In terms of durability, Experian has found that 96% of Subaru vehicles sold in the last 10 years remain on the road today, a higher figure than Honda or Toyota1. These and other reasons are likely why Kelly Blue Book found Subaru to be the Most Trusted Brand eight years in a row2, and in the American Customer Satisfaction Index, Subaru was rated #1 in Satisfaction3.
