2023 Subaru Ascent

Until the Solterra becomes available, the Ascent remains the youngest nameplate on the Subaru lineup. On the larger end of the midsize crossover segment, the Ascent is a three-row SUV with seating for up to seven or eight passengers depending on how you configure your middle row of seating. Even though it has only been around since the 2019 model year, it has already established a great reputation in its short time as the brand’s flagship vehicle.

There is only one powertrain option found beneath the hood of the Ascent, and that’s a 2.4L SUBARU BOXER turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The engine is capable of generating up to 260 horsepower alongside 277 pound-feet of torque. It is, of course, accompanied by the Lineartronic CVT as well as the brand’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
