What’s new in the 2024 Subaru Impreza?
It’s official, there will be an all-new Subaru Impreza for the 2024 model year as the iconic sedan enters its sixth generation. Except it won’t be entering the new generation as a traditional sedan as that body style will be getting discontinued, much like the Impreza coupe and station wagon styles before it. Instead, Subaru is focusing on the 5-door hatchback body style moving forward, so that’s the only Impreza body style that will be available starting in the 2024 model year. The new version will be a sportier hatchback than ever before, though, almost like a “Crosstrek Lite.” We cannot wait for it to arrive, so we thought we’d highlight a few of the other things that are new in the 2024 Subaru Impreza.

What is the Impreza RS?
While the biggest change for the 2024 model year is the discontinuation of the traditional sedan body style, the new Impreza RS trim level is probably the next big thing. Back in 1998, Subaru first introduced the RS as an enthusiast-focused trim level that ultimately led to the introduction of the WRX. Now, the RS trim returns with a 2.5L BOXER engine beneath its hood alongside the Lineartronic CVT with an 8-speed manual mode and paddle shifters tethered to it. This sporty trim level will offer plenty of other unique design cues and features to boot.
