This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Subaru brand’s annual Share the Love event, one of the biggest events of the year for the automaker. The charity event is dedicated to raising money for great causes, with this year’s event benefiting four incredible organizations – including The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America and the National Park Foundation.

“The Subaru Share the Love Event is one of the most important times of the year for our retailers and by giving back in such a significant way, we demonstrate that Subaru is more than a car company and our retailers are more than a car dealer. It means so much to our retailers, and us at Subaru of America, to hear stories about the impact these funds have on so many different causes, people and pets across the country.” - Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc.

How do the donations work?

Subaru is often involved in charitable partnerships and events, but this is definitely the biggest of the year. With more than 630 dealerships across the country, you can do your part by purchasing a new Subaru vehicle at one of these retail locations by January 3rd, 2023. For every new vehicle sold, Subaru will donate $250 to whichever charity of the four partners that the purchaser chooses. In other words, if you’re a big fan of Make-A-Wish, you’ll be able to choose that charity upon purchasing your new Subaru vehicle, and the automaker will donate $250.

In addition, each retailer will have the option to add up to two local charities to the list of choices, so you’ll be able to choose from five or six charities instead of just the big four. If the retailers choose to do this, then the amount donated will bump up to $300 instead of just $250.

Finally, a number of these dealerships will also be donating $5 to their registered hometown charity partner each time a Subaru vehicle is brought in for routine maintenance during the event’s timeframe.
